Re-grooving of approved truck tires has been a common process for truck, bus and fleet companies. The SG Upright Groover is designed specifically to meet this need. Most truck tires have 6/32” of under tread. Precision, adjustable re-grooving on the SG will increase the tire life and extend the available mileage of truck tires, including non-recappable type, as much as 15,000 miles per 1/32 of an inch.

Once side rollers are adjusted for a given size (See Fig. A), no further adjustments are necessary. When grooving is complete, the cylinders raise the side and top roller out of the way allowing the tire to be moved in and out of the machine easily. The Model SG comes equipped with an air operated cylinder for quick release of the tire when the grooving is completed.

The SG is equipped with a foot switch (See Fig. B). Both hands are free to operate the grooving mechanism. The machine stops automatically when the foot pedal is released. This safety feature is not available on other grooving machines.

The cutter is mounted on a fine, precision screw adjustment for controlling depth of groove (See Fig. C). Straight-line cuts are made to a controlled and consistent depth.
